Description: 

In this class, you will go beyond what you learned in the Beginning Zentangle Class and explore finishing touches to bring your art to life.  Using your graphite pencil, you will focus on different shading techniques to add ‘shades of gray’ for depth and contrast to transform your art.  You will learn new tangles that lend themselves to interesting shading options.  You will create a piece using a different “string” and learn additional ways to enhance your art. 

Materials will be provided.  (If you have a Beginner tool kit, please bring it to class. ). Please note, completion of a beginner Zentangle class is required for this class.

Nancy Longman is a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), Creativity Coach, Forest Therapy Guide, MahJongg Teacher and Intuitive Mixed Media Artist.  She discovered the wonderful world of Zentangle when she moved to MetroWest Boston nearly ten years ago and was immediately drawn to this simple, calming and expressive art form.  Knowing she wanted to learn more, she completed the 33rd Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) training in the spring of 2019 and continues to keep an almost daily Zentangle practice.  She is passionate about teaching others The Zentangle Method offering them the chance to slow down, spark creativity and connect with themselves and others in a deep, meaningful and fun way.  Nancy finds it especially joyful when her students create their very own original art for the first time. 

When she isn’t teaching Zentangle or guiding creativity workshops at her Holliston, MA studio you’ll find her walking in the woods with her two labradors, enjoying a family meal, painting, soaking in the sun at the beach or playing MahJongg.  For more information about Nancy, please visit: www.nancylongman.com
