Wabi Sabi 1
For many years, Judith has been fascinated by the Japanese concept of wabi sabi. Wabi means living with simplicity and nature, and Sabi refers to the passage of time. Wabi Sabi finds harmony and beauty in the transience and aging process (e.g., things that are worn, torn, weathered and rusty).
This piece is a gelli--plate printed monotype of plant materials that were used to create the design.

About Judith Stein
I am a mixed media artist with a home studio in Needham, MA. While I love painting with oils and cold wax medium, recently, I have become intrigued with collage and monotype printing using a gelli plate. . Creating engaging compositions and balancing shapes, colors, and textures is an immensely joyful and rewarding process regardless of the medium!
