About Lucille Nava
The latest series, "Conjunction"--of which four of five completed works are included here--are visual poems. Athough they may be compared to surrealism, they are not of that idiom. The series is based on non-objective symbolism and pictorial nods to realism. The technique combines both loose brushwork with more painterly, modeled forms.
