This collage was created with photos, letters, and found papers on watercolor paper, framed in a wood frame. This soldier (the artist's father) fought in WWII in Europe, sacrificing his own freedom and time with his wife and newly born son, in order to save democracy and free the victims of the Nazi's cruel and unjust regime.

About Judith Stein
I am a mixed media artist with a home studio in Needham, MA. For years, I have loved painting abstract landscapes and pure abstracts. My favorite medium has been oil paint mixed with cold wax medium. During the past two years, I have broadened my art practice to incorporate collage work and printing techniques. More recently, I have been exploring eco printing techniques using natural dyes to imprint the shapes, patterns, and colors of leaves and flowers onto paper. Through this process, nature is transformed into a unique piece of art that is personal, precious, and permanent.
