Erosion

Steep Over time, erosion cause beaches to narrow or disappear, dunes to collapse, and coastal habitats and properties to become vulnerable to flooding and storm damage. Seasonal changes often influence erosion patterns: powerful winter storms may remove large amounts of sand, while calmer summer waves can slowly rebuild the beach.
