Earth on Fire

Earth on Fire is about the disastrous fires that have ravaged the earth and have become all too frequent due to the increasing heat and dryness cause by climate change. Once the fires have scorched the land, there is nothing to hold the earth together in downpours causing floods.

My work focuses on the invisible, what we see in our mind’s eye where thoughts, memories, and ideas live. What I find important is the thoughtful contemplations that are manifested in the final image that is created. In thinking about Tides of Change, I cannot help but focus on the disasters of climate change that we have been experiencing. Two of the images I am presenting here are about the turmoil we have forced against our environmental home—Earth on Fire and The Sky is Falling. Yet I hold out the possibility of hope with the third image, Let the Light In. If only we can turn the tide to save our precious land.
