Cherry Blossom Time

This is a collage on paper created by using gelli-printed papers and found papers. The colors, shapes, and text remind me of a Japanese-style painting and the beautiful cherry blossoms associated with Japan.

About Judith Stein
I am a mixed media artist with a home studio in Needham, MA. While I love painting with oils and cold wax medium, recently, I have become intrigued with collage and the innumerable ways to express oneself using both hand-painted manufactured papers, photographs, digital images, magazines, fabric and text. I have also been exploring gelli-plate printing and monotypes. Creating engaging compositions and balancing shapes, colors, and textures is an immensely joyful and rewarding process!
