Impermanence

This is an archival giclee reproduction of an eco print monotype on watercolor paper, matted and professionally framed in wood. It was created by imprinting flowers and leaves onto watercolor paper that was soaked in an alum mordant and then steamed. The piece is matted and framed professionally in a natural wood frame.

About Judith Stein
I am a mixed media artist with a home studio in Needham, MA. While I love painting with oils and cold wax medium, recently, I have become intrigued with collage and printing techniques. I thoroughly enjoy printing my own gelli-plate papers and combining them with Japanese papers, photographs, digital images, dried flowers, and text. More recently, I have been exploring eco printing techniques using natural dyes to imprint leaves and flowers onto paper. Creating engaging compositions and balancing shapes, colors, and textures using a variety of techniques is an immensely joyful and rewarding process!
