Shining Xu and Aaliyah Kachroo: 8th graders from WMS doing a civics project
Shining:
I’ve enjoyed drawing ever since I took online lessons with my teacher. I like giving my art pieces to friends and teachers as a gift. Drawing is really fun and I’ve always been passionate about keeping the environment around me clean. Since I’m so passionate about drawing, I invite others that are also passionate about drawing or art to discover different ways to expand your creativity.
Aaliyah:
Hello, I'm Aaliyah, an 8th grader working on a civics project with my friend, Shining. We are launching a program focused on recycling and litter reduction. As someone who is passionate about art and creating, I wanted to combine community service with a relaxing, creative outlet.
I also run a small business on Instagram (cute_crochetco), where I take custom orders and make other stuff. Crocheting is a calming, engrossing hobby for me, and I want to bring the tranquil energy to our project. We envision this program as a welcoming space where people can draw and unwind after a long day, much like how I use painting too de-stress.
