The following are examples of comments made by some of the past students.

“I enjoyed all the classes, and learned so much from you: How to sketch looser and understand the perspective and how something is shaped to create movement. Painting: how to create shadows, how to paint a back drop that shows the difference between something in the forefront and something behind, like the shadows in the sails of the sailboats. And also importantly how to lift water/paint off the painting and still make the artwork look nice. So many positives!”  Sally D.

“I took an 8-week watercolor class with Ray Rahul in the spring of 2023.  We painted a different still life arrangement each week.  My goals (as a beginner) for the class were simple.  I wanted to learn basic watercolor techniques and practice what I was learning with the guidance of a teacher.  I also wanted to learn how to really see the subjects and to try to develop my own style.  My goals were met and expectations exceeded.  Ray taught us many basic techniques and helped us learn how to see objects in terms of perspective, relative placement, shapes, shadows, values, etc.  I learned so much in his class and very much enjoyed the process.”  Susan C.
