Arwork title: Activist
Arwork brief description: By carefully curating the objects and composing the painting, still lifes can tell stories and convey ideas. Hats have always been used as metaphors for the jobs we do, the responsibilities we take on, the roles we play, in our busy lives. Using hats, this painting, completed after I participated in the 2017 Women's March in Washington DC, highlights the importance of assuming responsibility for our democracy, of speaking out when it is needed.
