Art Circle: Art Instruction

Date: Thursday, February 5th
Time: 7:00–8:30 PM (doors open at 6:45 for casual mingling)
Location: Arts Wayland, 35 Andrews Ave.
Topic: Art Instruction – How Do We Grow as Artists?
As artists, we’re always striving to learn, refine our skills, and deepen our creative practice. But what role does instruction play in that development? Whether you're just beginning your artistic journey or have years of experience, this session will offer a thoughtful exploration of how classes, mentorship, and different teaching styles can support your growth.
During our discussion, we’ll consider questions such as:
-
What kind of instruction works best for you?
Skill-oriented? Process-focused? Medium-specific? Something else? -
What qualities do you value in an instructor?
Encouraging? Direct? Critically supportive?
Someone who outlines steps and demonstrates methods, or someone who helps you explore your own process and style?
This conversation will be led by member Frank Shear, and promises to be lively, supportive, and engaging—just like our community.
Come connect, share, and be inspired.
Please RSVP to brushandlathe@gmail.com so we can plan seating and refreshments.
Looking forward to seeing you there,
The Arts Wayland Team
