Transfiguration

This collage was created using hand-painted papers, found papers, and a pressed rose and leaf which are mounted on an archival watercolor paper, matted and framed. This work is a reminder that even aging and worn materials can be transformed into a beautiful piece of art. .

About Judith Stein
I am a mixed media artist with a home studio in Needham, MA. While I love painting with oils and cold wax medium, recently, I have become intrigued with collage and the innumerable ways to express oneself using both hand-painted manufactured papers, photographs, digital images, magazines, fabric and text. I have also been exploring gelli-plate printing and monotypes. Creating engaging compositions and balancing shapes, colors, and textures is an immensely joyful and rewarding process!
