Verdant Petri dish Art Glass Sculpture

In a petri dish, small things begin. Growth, elaboration, replication, budding, flowering carry the journey from spore to seed to bloom in light. The verdant scene before us embodies the destination of that journey. These small sculptures, some wearable, come out of glass formed in a flame. The artist invites you to interact with each object on its own and as an ensemble, celebrating the abundant treasure that is all around us.

Natick artist Liliana Glenn continually finds herself drawn to flameworking—the process of melting glass rods in a torch flame. In flame, hard, brittle glass becomes liquid, dynamic, interactive.
