Waiting at the Shore

This is an ICM (intentional camera movement) image. It captures a length of time as opposed to a single moment of time. The gulls seem to be gazing out at the sea in a peaceful gesture. The image is printed on archival textured paper and is under a non-glare acrylic. It has a blue metal frame to bring out the blues of the ocean.

Here in New England, December is a month of cold weather, often icy and snowy. This month for me, however, is one of warmth and calm to let memories flow like the meandering of a river. I always search for what nature offers to recuperate from the stresses of daily life. Light illuminating a soft plant, rivers peacefully flowing along its way, the shelter provided by trees that have endured the ravages of storms provide an inner peace. Presenting the world in a different way of seeing becomes a form of meditation. Slowing down and giving our minds a free reign heightens our cerebral journey. The more we look, the more we see.
