House With ? Tree

This postcard is printed from an original watercolor and ink drawing. It shows an old stone cottage with a moss-covered roof, a weathered wooden door and a tall brick chimney. In front of it, an ancient twisted tree reaches its bare, crooked branches across the walls. It's a quiet, slightly mysterious scene that looks like it came from an old fairy tale, to send to a friend or keep for yourself.

I'm a watercolor artist based in Wayland. I trained at an art school in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg), and I've always preferred graphic media: watercolor, pastel, sepia and pencil. I love how watercolor builds in layers, with each wash adding depth instead of covering what's beneath. My work follows two paths: nature scenes like forests, brooks, mushrooms and wildlife, and whimsical architecture like crooked cottages, lighthouses and castles. In both, I try to stay on the line between the real and the imagined. My whimsical houses also appear in my children's book, Whimsical Way. I also paint commissioned house portraits.
