About Robynn Stewart
My entries for this month are from my "Mayan Collection", a series of oil paintings of carved ceremonial masks found at the Mayan pyramids and archeological sites in the Yucatan and Palenque, Mexico. Some are carved from semi-precious stones and others from wood and stone. I chose to "bring them to life" by painting a simple speck of light in the eyes, adding to the mystical and mysterious nature of these ancient artifacts.
