“Exodus” (11x14 acrylic on panel) is a painting of two women and a child during the Ukrainian refugee exodus from the Russian invasion this past winter. They each huddle with their down coats zipped against the cold unwanted winds of change.

The winds of change can be fierce and unwanted or gentle and embraced. In these paintings I worked abstractly and representationally with both forces to show how the winds of change move and rearrange our lives. “The Way the Wind Goes”, 24x20 is a mixed media cool pastel toned piece made with layers of Venetian plaster, acrylic and casein milk paint on canvas. In our personal lives and culture, the winds of change can bring uplifting fresh starts that are easy to flow with. This piece shows oval seed forms lifted by the wind, giving the viewer a sense of hope. This painting has many layers and changed many times, experiencing its own “winds of change”. “Float” is a tonalist, neutral, limited palette painting made with open acrylic on 24x20 panel. Float bestows a sense of soft blowing movement as a gentle zephyr breeze transfers leaf and stick forms through the air across the picture plane. “Exodus” (11x14 acrylic on panel) is a painting of two women and a child during the Ukrainian refugee exodus from the Russian invasion this past winter. They each huddle with their down coats zipped against the cold unwanted winds of change.
