Colored Pencils on Acetate by David Martsolf
About David Martsolf
I have been drawing and painting for over 40 years. I turned away from studies in architecture at MIT, to focus on the Fine Arts, receiving a BFA from the University of New Hampshire in 1985. Initially, I was intrigued by surrealism, and used in photorealism to create complex surreal oil canvases. While still creating brighter and more uplifting surreal art, I now also paint abstracts that incorporate the energy and artistic honesty contained in the direct application of paint to canvas without an underlying sketch or plan.
