Off The Wall
At first glance one sees a wooden wall-mounted sculpture. However, the light wood shapes are held in place with magnets (thought to be magical in Ancient Greece) and can be removed for use as table trivets. The darker wooden base serves as wall decor when the panels are transformed into trivets. A discarded wooden desk is the substrate for this functional work; some hardware is retained (visible on the reverse of one trivet).
