november-december26-572381
House with Sunflowers
A tall, narrow house on a cobblestone street, covered in tiny windows, painted tiles and a bright red heart. Giant sunflowers and hollyhocks climb its walls, flower pots crowd the doorstep, and a blue bicycle leans by the door as if its owner just stepped inside. The piece is ink and watercolor on deckle-edge paper, floated on a navy mat in a white frame.

Watercolor and Ink on Paper by Boris Rudelson

Size: 17x13

About Boris Rudelson
I’m a watercolor artist and illustrator living in Wayland. I trained at an art school in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg, Russia), and I’ve always preferred graphic media: watercolor, ink, pastel and pencil. I love how watercolor builds layer by layer, with each one adding more light and story. My favorite subject is whimsical houses: crooked cottages, lighthouses, castles and tall narrow homes covered in flowers and tiny details. Each one starts as a pencil sketch and grows into a place that feels almost real, but not quite. My art lives on the line between the real world and imagination, and I try to keep it there, never slipping into plain realism or pure fantasy. I also paint quiet forest scenes and illustrated the children’s book Whimsical Way: A Curious Journey on a Special Street.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0511/9154/6031/files/2026_November_HouseWithSunflowers_17x13-BorisRudelson.jpg?v=1793258823
