Treasures on the Beach

This collage was created from found and gelli-printed papers pasted on paper, matted, and framed. The varied shapes, rich textures, and colors reminded me of the beautiful shells, sea glass, and seaweed one finds on the beach.

I am a mixed media artist with a home studio in Needham, MA. While I love painting with oils and cold wax medium, recently, I have become intrigued with collage and the innumerable ways to express oneself using both hand-painted and manufactured papers, photographs, digital images, magazines, fabric and text. Creating engaging compositions and balancing shapes, colors, and textures is an immensely joyful and rewarding process!
