Spring is associated with energy and vitality for me. In this painting, I used bright and pastel colors, as well as organic shapes, to evoke those feelings and remind viewers of the beauty inherent in the natural world.

About Alena Aniskovich
I am a self-taught artist, and my paintings are the lens through which I share my world and my story. I started painting while I was in college as an escape from social and economic difficulties. I painted to release my emotions, to find answers, and to ground myself. I think I still paint for a lot of the same reasons today. My process is intuitive and spontaneous at times but done with deliberate intent. It takes me time to reflect on what I feel before I even touch a canvas. Once I do, I am driven to fully explore my feelings and discover something new about myself. I primarily use acrylic in my painting and they manifest mostly in abstract form.
