Block Printing Holiday Cards
Come make fun holiday cards in this beginner linoleum block class with printmaker Bryan Clocker. You will learn the basics of the multi-step process of producing a print and carving from a linoleum block. The workshop covers a basic history of a block print and a walk through of each step from drawing an image that will bring a successful print, to transferring the image to the block, carving the block, and tricks for printing your carved linocut. By the end you will have gained the tools and knowledge to make handmade cards for all seasons and unique pieces of art on your own. This will be a fun fast-paced class with lots of hands-on experience and teaching. No art background required, just an interest and an open mind to exploring this wonderful and long-lived tradition of printmaking!

Teacher: Bryan Clocker
Bio: Bryan Clocker is a printmaker and illustrator living and working out of the Boston area. He graduated with a BFA in printmaking and a BA in graphic design in 2016. Bryan utilizes his passion for nature and wildlife to create unique and captivating pieces of artwork. Bryan sells his artwork both online and in person by participating in a multitude of different art markets, galleries, and juried shows. Bryan is well known for his block prints that he hand carves, prints, and paints.
Price: $40 for Arts Wayland members, $50 for non-members plus a $10 materials fee paid directly to Bryan. Bryan will bring all the materials you will need for the class.
