Acrylic Painting Fundamentals
5 Week Class With Felipe Zamora

Materials fee: Students will need to purchase materials in advance of first class
Description: This class is geared towards beginner and intermediate students looking to learn the foundations of acrylic painting skills. The instructor uses a one-on-one teaching approach as well as group critiques. We will be studying values, composition aesthetics, and grounding techniques among other tricks to make our paintings look more understandable and visually attractive. Our goal will be to finish a painting of our own creation. We will be working from photo references that the student will provide.
Bio: Colombian born Felipe Zamora is an active member of the Metro West Arts Community, and participates in many shows through The Mill Contemporary Art in North Framingham, Massachusetts, where his studio is located. With a degree from U Mass Lowell in Graphic Design, Zamora continues to pursue freelance work in his spare time. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in art with a minor in art history from Framingham State University.
Over the past 8 years Zamora has been teaching eager students the joys of acrylic painting, and has served as a curator for several shows around the region. He is affiliated with the Danforth Museum, The School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and thrives on visiting contemporary art museums and exhibits all over the globe to help him broaden his art vocabulary and knowledge.
